The Beginners Guide to a CAD CareeR
WHY THIS BOOK?
Computer-aided design (CAD) is the future of the design and manufacturing industry and understanding the basics of it is essential for anybody with ambitions for a career in product design and manufacturing – or for anyone curious about the subject and keen to learn more.
As advances in computing take a firmer grip on design and manufacturing processes concepts such as 3D design and printing are increasingly expected by clients who want to be able to see and handle their prototype rather than just look at it on a screen or a sheet of paper.
3D printing allows for far more accurate designs and ensures that there are no surprises when you come to manufacture or build as the relationships between the various measurements have already been tested and verified to ensure they work together.
This has been a huge step forward in the world of product design and has helped to make the manufacturing process quicker and more cost-effective than ever before.
If you’ve ever wondered, ‘How do I get into the design industry?’ or ‘What qualifications do I need for a career in CAD?’ then this is the book for you.

NOTE: This book is available only online as the company aims to go paperless. CAD FM recommends you do not print any part of this book unless absolutely necessary.
